As an owner of the OnePlus 3T, I can say that OnePlus has become pretty adept at making a camera that its owners are happy to have in their pocket. It may not be a Google Pixel, but I’ve been very satisfied with the images I am able to get on a consistent basis.
While DxO has not reviewed the OP3T, a new partnership between the two companies looks to be in the works.
As a leader in the digital photgraphy market, DxO is probably best known for its mobile camera benchmark, DxOMark. Granted, just like other benchmarks, this score isn’t a definitive and final judgement on a camera. It is, however, a very important score to get high marks in.
Consumers know the name DxO and they know that high marks on their test mean a great camera experience. As it turns out, for the OP5, OnePlus is not just making a camera that can score well on DxOMark, they are partnering with DxO to build the best camera they can.
From Etienne Knauer, SVP Sales & Marketing at DxO:
OnePlus has always been one of the leading innovators in the smartphone industry, and we are proud to partner with them and support their exciting mobile photography strategy.
Sure, this doesn’t necessarily mean the camera on the OP5 will be the best, but OnePlus is clearly taking the camera element of the smartphone very seriously.
Will it pan out? We’ll see soon enough as the OP5 is slated for a release in the coming weeks.
